Day 1 - Matthew 1

God will forgive and use anyone who is willing to repent. Matthew 1 traces the lineage of Jesus up to Abraham, 42 generations in all. It breaks the 42 generations up into 14 generation groups which are related to the different promises of God to each group. Matthew shows how God can use anyone who is willing to believe and ask for forgiveness by displaying some of the people who were involved in the natural ancestory of Jesus. The first instance I noticed was Tamar and Judah. Tamar was Judah's daughter-in-law who deceived him into having her child after Judah kept his last son from her (breaking the tradition). Next, Rahab was a prostitute who repented. Finally, Ruth was an outsider who trusted God and ended up being the great-grandmother of king David. Never doubt what God is capable of, or willing to do, in your life if you repent and surrender.
